COLLECTOR SHOWROOM
A ground-up building conceived as a private gallery for an automotive collector, Ocean Avenue is a purpose-built collector car showroom and garage in Lordship, Connecticut. Designed in the language of a classic New England carriage house, the building presents three steeply pitched gables clad in crisp white lap siding, capped by a standing-seam metal roof and grounded by a granite base. Carriage-style garage doors with arched transom windows, paired with gooseneck barn lights, give the exterior the timeless character of a coastal estate outbuilding. Inside, the experience shifts to a warm, column free, contemporary showroom: polished concrete floors run throughout, a linear-slat wood ceiling with recessed LED lighting brings warmth overhead, and custom wood millwork lines the walls with integrated display shelving, framed artwork, and curated memorabilia. Engineered wood framing with LVL and flush flitch plate beams, Parallam posts, and a full exposed wood attic structure above creates the clear, open display bays the collection demands. The result is a building that reads as a refined carriage house from the street and opens into a gallery quality home for hot rods, classics, and sports cars alike. Completed: 2025 Square Footage: 2,200 Project Type: New build - accessory structure Roofing: Standing seem metal Ceiling Height: 10 FT Primary Structure: Engineered wood and flitchplate
