HAMPTONS BARN

Set on a hedge lined property in Sagaponack, this barn is a ground up reconstruction of a historic structure, rebuilt to the exact dimensions of the original barn that once stood on the site, but reimagined with a fully updated, contemporary design. Where the previous main house and barn were both considered historic, the new barn honors that heritage in form and footprint while delivering a light-filled, modern interior. Clad in vertical wood siding beneath a standing-seam metal gable roof, the building reads as a classic agrarian structure from the landscape, then opens up: large operable barn doors slide back to connect the interior directly to a bluestone pool deck framed by lavender, ornamental grasses, and manicured hedges. Inside, a double-height great room with a vaulted, beamed ceiling anchors the plan, with a kitchen, living area, and a loft-level overlook connected by an open cable rail stair. The barn comfortably accommodates two bedrooms and two full baths, detailed with character, from striped marble tilework and brass fixtures to skylit, sloped-ceiling spaces, making it a complete, self contained retreat. The result is a poolside guest barn that preserves the spirit and silhouette of its historic predecessor while functioning as a refined modern living space. Completed: 2025 Square Footage: 1,500 Project Type: New build, reconstruction Exterior Cladding: Vertical stained cedar board Roofing: Standing seem metal Primary Structure: Engineered wood and concrete Style: Contemporary barn
