AQUA LAB

The Aquaculture Center in Vernon, Connecticut, is a modern educational and research facility designed and built by dB Development. The building features a distinctive sloped roofline and an expansive curtain wall glazing system that floods the integrated classroom and lab spaces with natural light. The building's exterior utilizes a durable and visually striking combination of fiber cement boards, composite metal panels, and wood accent cladding, which seamlessly integrates with the site's bio-swale rainwater management system. Inside, the open-concept lab is equipped with large circular cultivation tanks and linear aquariums, complemented by polished concrete floors, sleek white casework, and custom acoustic ceiling installations. Designed with environmental consciousness in mind, the Center incorporates zero-VOC finishes throughout to support a healthy space for cutting edge aquatic education.
